This program provides fuel grants to over 70 tribes from Maine to Alaska. Our assistance goes to some of the poorest communities in the U.S., including tribal settlements that struggle to stay warm amidst Arctic conditions.
The Tribal Program provides heating fuel such as oil, propane, kerosene, wood, natural gas and electricity.
Each winter, Citizens Energy, in partnership with CITGO Petroleum, provides energy assistance to more than 30,000 households in 242 Native American tribal communities.
Many reservations are isolated with sub-standard roads, infrastructure, and a lack of reliable transportation.
Currently, the Native American Tribal Program partners with tribes in Alaska, Arizona, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wisconsin.
