The Dooly County Solar project is a 1.0-megawatt (MW) installation located on six acres of vacant scrub-land in Vienna, Georgia.
The ground-mounted, utility-scale project was initiated by a local developer and acquired by Citizens Energy as a late-stage development asset.
The project utilizes 3,225 Trina solar panels, 36 SMA string inverters, and an RBI ground-mount racking system.
Completed in March 2015, the installation generates over 1.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year. This production prevents the annual release of over 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide from non-renewable power plants and powers approximately 100 local homes.
This project was completed as a part of the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative, a utility program to promote the generation of clean, green, renewable power.
