The Joint Outlook on Renewable Energy in America (PDF), prepared by the American Council on Renewable Energy, presents a shared statement by the renewable energy community regarding the ability of renewable energy to meet America's growing energy demand. According to this estimate, renewable energy could provide up to 635 gigawatts of new electricity generating capacity by 2025 – a substantial contribution that potentially could exceed the nation’s need for new capacity.
