Wind resource maps:  These should be used only as a reference, and the wind should be measured professionally at your location prior to putting up turbines.  Generally, utility-scale wind requires Class 4 wind or greater, but Class 3 wind resources sometimes can be used, especially if 80 or 100 meter hub height turbines are deployed.  Wind resources of less than Class 3 may be eligible for small residential turbines.
