The Plum Solar project is located on a 13-acre parcel of land in rural Emanuel County, Georgia.
The 2.0-megawatt (MW) installation in Twin City in eastern Georgia utilizes 6,444 JA Solar solar panels, two SMA inverters, and an RBI ground-mount racking system.
Completed in March 2015, the ground-mounted, utility-scale installation generates over 3 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year. This production prevents the annual release of over 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide from non-renewable power plants and powers approximately 200 local homes.
This project was completed as a part of the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative, a utility program to encourage the development of affordable renewable energy.
