The Terrell Solar I (Peachtree) project is a 1.0-megawatt (MW) installation located on six acres of former cotton farmland in the town of Sasser in Terrell County, Georgia.
The ground-mounted, utility-scale project utilizes 3,211 Canadian Solar solar panels, 29 Chint string inverters, and an RBI racking system. Completed in January 2015, the installation generates over 1.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year.
This production prevents the annual release of over 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide from non-renewable power plants and powers approximately 100 local homes.
The Terrell Solar I project was completed as a part of the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative, a utility program to promote the development of clean, green, renewable energy.
