The Terrell Solar II (Industrial) project is a 1.0-megawatt (MW) solar installation located on six acres of a private industrial park in the town of Dawson in rural Terrell County, Georgia.
The ground-mounted, utility-scale installation utilizes 3,211 Canadian Solar solar panels, 29 Chint string inverters, and an RBI racking system. Completed in January 2015, the installation generates over 1.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year. This production prevents the annual release of over 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide from non-renewable power plants and powers approximately 100 local homes.
The project was acquired from a local developer as a late-state development asset.
The Terrell Solar II project was completed as a part of the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative, a utility program to promote the creation of clean, green, renewable energy.
